Diskolab - Miami Music Week / Media Director

Diskolab - Miami Music Week 2022

I was brought in by Charlotte Underwood, now Head of M2 on South Beach, Diskolab’s Marketing Director, to act as something of a Media Director alongside Cinematographer and (Sh)editor Shvwn Cooper, to capture more of a lifestyle editorial feel than the usual Crowd-and-DJ event photos.

The production on Island Gardens had an intimate feel, where everyone was treated like a VIP. Unlike some monstrous cattle carting event, the island was curated with kitschy decor set up for lounging under the massive tree that was the center of the festival grounds.  The giant yachts and Miami city skyline and bridges provided the most picturesque backdrop.  The sunsets were as breathtaking as the low hertz pushing out of the speakers as bodies in motion welcomed the night.  It was large enough to have the feel of something grand, yet intimate enough to feel special.

We entangled some of our friends who also happen to be influencers, including XOBunny from Rolling Loud and Fashion Nova, and International Fire Performer Lydia Lux(Gospel NYC, Mayan Warrior) to help us vibe out the feel we were going for.

From Erik Prydz, John Summit, Lee Burgis, Duke Dumont, Art Bat, Sam Divine, Nora En Pure, Blondish, Maceo Plex, Leyla Benitez, the talent this year for Diskolabs signature events was unprecedented.  It was a privilege to work with such high caliber artists, their management, and labels in such a close setting.

It was such a wonderful surprise to discover we were working with Kevin Mignone from Technical Artist Group, who were brought on by the visionaries at ADPTV.  It was the smoothest of any Miami Music Week run I’ve done to date, and I’ve been in some facet of production on since 2007.

I’d like to Thank Diskolab, especially Charlotte, for our 10+ years of working together through thick and thin.  Can’t wait till next year.
